The move was made in order for Atilano to get extra work during the All-Star break. However, he is expected to return to the big club shortly after the Midsummer Classic.

Atilano, 25, is 6-6 in 15 starts with a 4.85 earned run average this season. He last pitched on Thursday and suffered the loss to San Diego after yielding eight hits and four runs in 5 1/3 innings.

No immediate roster move was announced.
